Praying for God to ‘Do It Again’ in Glasgow, Scotland

Around 250 church leaders and pastors came together in Glasgow, Scotland, this morning (18th January) for the God Loves You Tour kick off event. This is the second out of the two launch events that have taken place this month in preparation for when Franklin Graham returns to the United Kingdom to share the Gospel message in June.

The event kicked off with a time of worship.
Throughout the event, those in attendance took a moment to pray and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance as they make plans to reach lost hearts with the Good News of Christ. “Prayer is vital to everything we do,” Chris Smith, Glasgow City Tour Director said. “If you do nothing else, please just pray.”
At the beginning of the event, people were asked to raise their hand if they saw Billy Graham preach at Celtic Park in 1991. Over a third of the room raised their hand. Viktor Hamm, Vice President of Crusades at BGEA said: “We thank God for the 1991 crusade with Dr Billy Graham, and we ask today, Lord, do it again here in Glasgow!”
From discipleship materials, posters, and t-shirts—attendees were able to receive free materials to share with their church and help spread the word about the Glasgow outreach on the 22nd June at the OVO Hydro.
Attendees were able to enjoy a time of fellowship with other local ministry leaders. “It’s important that we create a sense of unity within the church, especially during a time where their can be so much discord and differences. We must stand as one,” one pastor said.
Time was dedicated to singing praises to the Lord and thanking Him for appointing each person with the mission sharing Jesus Christ in their community.

This year, the ministry has launched the 3:16 prayer initiative for believers to commit praying at 3:16 every day, asking the Lord to bring one particular person into a relationship with Jesus Christ. At both launch events, attendees were able to sign up to the 3:16 prayer initiative and receive a free t-shirt.
“A move of God has begun and we need to catch that wave,” local pastor, Michael Rollo said. “I believe that the God Loves You Tour is another aspect of what God is doing in our nation, and God is doing something amazing in Scotland.”
In preparation for the God Loves You Tour events in June, churches are able to host BGEA’s Christian Life and Witness Course (CLWC) to help equip their congregation with practical skills on how to share their faith. Pastor Stephen and Antoinette Premkumar, from Glasgow, saw a significant growth in their church after hosting numerous CLWC classes. “Our spiritual and evangelism level increased since hosting these seminars. People who attended the course started bringing other people and evangelising,” Stephen explained. “Now, we need a bigger building because our church is full.”
After lunch was served, dozens queued to sign up to the 3:16 prayer initiative and to express their interest in getting involved with the Glasgow outreach on the 22nd June. Will you join us in praying for the many church leaders and pastors who attended the event, asking the Lord to sustain their passion to see many countless of men, women, and children saved in Glasgow?
