“There Is A Great Harvest!”: God Loves You Tour Kick Off Lunch in Birmingham

Over 200 church leaders and pastors gathered yesterday (16th January) at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham for the first of the two God Loves You Tour kick off lunch taking place this month. The lunch is one of the many preparatory events being held by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) ahead of the God Loves You Tour in June, where Franklin Graham will be returning to the United Kingdom to share the Good News of Christ in Birmingham and Glasgow.
The event began with a time of worship led by musician Mark Oakes.
Viktor Hamm, vice president of Crusades at BGEA, reminded those in attendance that there should always be an urgency in our evangelism efforts. “This is the time to fully trust the Word of God.“ he said. “There is a great harvest as there is a great hunger!”
Through prayer and worship, those in attendance asked the Lord to move in a mighty way in their city and the West Midlands.
Joe Kim, Birmingham City Tour Director at BGEA, gave words of encouragement to the many church leaders and pastors in attendance, reminding them of the ministry’s dedication and commitment to supporting and partnering with the local churches.
Many expressed their gratitude to BGEA for taking the time to organise events to encourage, unite, and uplift ministry leaders. “It’s so encouraging to know that we are all on the same page, we all want God to move here in Birmingham,” church leader David Hancox said. “This can be the loneliest job in the world, that’s why we need events like these to encourage each other and keep the passion for evangelism alive. My prayer is for us to see miracles in Birmingham on in June.”
Another local pastor, Kirk McAtear, urged his fellow church leaders in attendance to unite as one for sake of the Gospel. “This is an opportunity for churches in Birmingham to unite, hear the Gospel be preached, and see a harvest of souls!” Kirk said.
Prayer has always been at the heart of BGEA’s ministry.
Chandler Hampton, Tour Associate at BGEA, spoke about the exciting opportunity for church leaders to host a Pursuit class at their church. Pursuit is a free seminar designed by BGEA to equip young believers with practical skills on how to effectively share their faith with their friends and family.
The room was filled with worship and praise for the Lord as every person sang the words “Great Are You Lord”.
The hundreds in attendance listened intently as they heard how their church and congregation can benefit by getting involved with the upcoming God Loves You Tour this summer.
Hot lunch was served after a time of worship, prayer and fellowship.
Whether it’s committing to bring a coach to the event, hosting seminars at their church, or volunteering at the event – many queued to fill out interest forms to connect with the ministry.
Chaplains from the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team were present at the event, always ready with a smile and a listening ear.
