Upholding Religious Freedom in the UK
Through the Billy Graham Defence Fund, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) will provide financial resources aimed at encouraging Christians across the UK to continue sharing their faith freely and boldly, even in the face of legal and public policy challenges.
History
Sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ is the heart of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Since Billy Graham’s first ever crusade in the UK over 70 years ago, hundreds and thousands of souls have turned their hearts to Christ at a BGEA outreach event. Just this year alone,15,000 people heard the Gospel in Birmingham and Glasgow—but it almost never happened.
Franklin Graham was scheduled to preach the Gospel across eight UK cities back in 2020; but seven events were cancelled by the venues due to opposition.
The ministry brought legal action against these venues—with the goal of preserving the platform for Christians to proclaim the Gospel in the public square.
All legal disputes have now been resolved favourably, with BGEA receiving £500,000 ($650,000) as a result. We praise the Lord for the reminder that through trails and opposition, “victory belongs to the Lord” (Proverbs 21:31, NLT).

The Fund
The fund is designed to “encourage Christians across the UK to keep living out and sharing their faith freely and boldly,” Franklin Graham said.
“We’re going to use these funds that came from this battle against cancel culture to help other Christians who may be threatened into silence. This is a victory, not just for us, but for all Christians and churches across the UK.”
