Young Believers Stirred to Action Through Pursuit of Worship Nights Across the UK

Keira (14) and her friends experienced a powerful night of worship at City Gates Church. “God’s presence was in the room—it made me tear up,” Keira shared. She brought three friends along, seeing it as a chance to help others encounter Jesus in a real way.

The month of May has seen no less than twelve Pursuit of Worship Nights hosted in different churches around the UK. On Saturday 10 May, more than 400 youth and young adults gathered at City Gates Church in London for a night of worship and inspiration.

Pursuit events are some of the many events taking place across the UK ahead of the God Loves You Tour (GLYT) in London on 21 June. They are designed to equip young believers to share their faith with friends and family.

The night at City Gates Church featured inspiring messages and testimonies from Virginnia Logan (evangelist) and Reuben Morley (Festival Director at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association), as well as worship led by Phil King and Ashtyn Michael. The worship deeply impacted many—including Keira, age 14.

“God’s presence was in the room,” Keira shared. “It made me tear up.” Having invited three of her friends to the event, Keira described how nights like these are a valuable opportunity to invite others to hear about Jesus. She noted that while many young people identify as Christians, they often struggle to live out their faith.

Naniya, one of Keira’s friends, said the worship helped her reflect on her relationship with God and she left with a fresh passion to see Him move among her peers. “We should be the generation that brings a new wave of Christians,” she said.

All of the friends expressed feeling encouraged by the experience and said they plan to attend the GLYT on 21 June—as did a group of Nepalese students who had travelled over an hour into London to attend.

“It was worth it,” said Samuel, age 22, who had brought eight of his friends. “My favourite part was the worship at the end,” he said and described the experience as transformative. The group agreed they left feeling more confident to share their faith—and several of them plan on attending the GLYT in June.

Please join us in praising God for the Pursuit of Worship nights which have seen more than 2,000 young people attend.

Will you also join us in praying for the God Loves You Tour in the UK this June? Please pray for boldness among believers as they invite their friends and family to the Festival and ask God to draw many into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
