During a recent trip to Lima, Peru, for a Franklin Graham Festival, Cissie Graham Lynch sat down with Pastor Skip Heitzig of Calvary Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for an impromptu but refreshingly honest look at what makes a healthy church.
They also discussed why pastors should always give an invitation to receive the Gospel, and the need for churches to preach on today’s issues like the current situation in the Middle East. Heitzig, a team member of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, is known for his deep dives into Scripture and how God’s Word relates to us today.
“Sermonettes make Christianettes,” he said. “If you talk in a way that’s only exhortation but not teaching, you’re not going to develop strong Christians.”
