Venue Staff Comes to Christ at God Loves You Tour in Birmingham

Prayer volunteers ministered to attendees, helping those who decided to begin a relationship with Jesus Christ get connected to a local church. Each person who responded received a Bible and materials to help them grow in their new faith.

“God bless,” said Alastair*, one of the staff stationed by the entrance at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, where the God Loves You Tour took place in June.

At the end of the evening, after speaking and praying with many people impacted by the event, the BG-RRT chaplains decided to head back to the entrance.

“Thank you,” the chaplains replied to Alastair as they walked past him.

But something about Alastair’s choice of words struck a chord with the chaplains, so they went back to have a conversation with him.

“It was just amazing really,” remembers Lily, one of the BG-RRT chaplains. “God doesn’t miss anyone.”

Alastair was 27 years old and had grown up in a religious household, but he had never given his life to Jesus Christ.

That night at the tour, Alastair heard Franklin Graham preach a powerful Gospel message.

“God loves you,” Graham shared. “But you are separated because of your sins. If you come to Him tonight, He’ll forgive you, He’ll cleanse you, and you can have a new beginning.”

That’s exactly what Alastair did.

“He had clearly been moved by the Spirit,” Lily described. “It was a really beautiful moment. And to know that he’ll go back and share with his parents that he has given his life to the Lord… that’s really special.”

The chaplains gave Alastair one of the Next Steps packs with a New Testament, and got him to fill out a follow-up form so that he could get connected into a local church.

The Lord faithfully answered prayer in Birmingham, the first stop on this year’s God Loves You Tour in the UK. After hearing Graham preach about a loving God who redeems lives, over 600 people made a public decision to follow Jesus Christ. The tour continues next weekend in Glasgow, Scotland.

Since the Tour, hundreds who made decisions for Christ have been connected into local churches where they are being nurtured and encouraged in their faith. Please continue to pray for them to grow in God at this stage of their journey with Him.
