On Friday 11 September, King’s Church in Bolton hosted one of the eight Pursuit of Worship Nights taking place across the North of England this September, ahead of the God Loves You Tour in Manchester. These evenings of fellowship and inspiration give young people the opportunity to invite their friends to hear the Gospel, while also equipping Christians to live out their faith boldly.
The evening opened with a message from Reuben Morley, Youth & Young Adult Coordinator at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He encouraged the young people that sharing the Gospel doesn’t require a particular personality—only a willingness to boldly be yourself, trust God, and boldly share the difference that Jesus has made in your life.
“It was a really great event,” said John, who had attended with a coach full of young people from his church. “It was good to hear about how young people can be bold in their faith.”
The evening left John considering his next step in faith, and he is now planning to join the God Loves You Tour in Manchester on 3 October. His encouragement to other young Christians was simple: “Be confident and do what God wants you to do.”
For Claudia, it was the worship that left a lasting impression. Reflecting on why nights like Pursuit matter so much to young people, she said they show that faith doesn’t have to be heavy. “Being a Christian is fun!” she said.
Claudia is also planning to attend the God Loves You Tour, and her message for others is simple: come to Jesus with an open heart. “He can meet you where you are,” she encouraged.
Faith Child, a MOBO Award-winning rapper who has taken the Gospel to crowds across more than 20 countries, closed the evening. He celebrated the opportunity these free Pursuit of Worship Nights give young people to invite their friends to hear about Jesus. “Money has not been an obstacle. That’s why I love nights like these, and why I love the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.”
