I Want to Be Part of the Light

Dear Friend,
Thank you for your partnership in proclaiming God’s love and truth to people all across the United Kingdom and the world. There is no other message with the power to change lives forever.

As we head into a season that an unbelieving world celebrates with materialism, it’s a wonderful opportunity to share the true meaning of Christmas: “Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2, 10–11, NKJV).

I had the privilege of proclaiming these “good tidings of great joy” in London just a few short months ago. We praise God for the hundreds of individuals who responded to the Gospel and surrendered their lives to the Saviour, Christ the Lord. And now I’m excited to see what He will do next October during the God Loves You Tour in Manchester.

Next year’s event will be held in the United Kingdom’s largest indoor arena, Co-op Live. Nearly 9 million people live within an hour’s drive, and buses are necessary to bring thousands from all across north-west England to hear the Good News.

As you prepare for Christmas, will you prayerfully consider adding one special gift to your list this year? For only £20, you can provide a seat for an individual on one of these buses—and give them a ride to hear the Good News at the God Loves You Tour in Manchester. It’s a small investment, but it could have eternal results.

Thank you again for your partnership in the Gospel. I thank God for you and pray that you and your loved ones will be filled with the joy and peace of our Saviour Jesus Christ this Christmas.

    May God richly bless you,

“I used to joke that if I went to church, I’d turn to dust,” Cally* said. Now, four months after the London God Loves You Tour, she and her teenage daughter are preparing to be baptised. God began working in Cally’s life in the spring of this year. Intrigued
and inspired by the person of Jesus, she decided to start attending a local church in her hometown to learn more. Here, she was promptly invited to join the church group on one of the free buses provided by the Billy Graham Evangelical Association (BGEA) bringing people to the God Loves You Tour in June. Cally accepted—but she had no idea how much this trip would transform her life. Inside the ExCeL arena, worship music filled the space before Franklin Graham took the stage. “Do you know who Jesus Christ is?” he asked the crowd. “He came on a rescue mission to save us.”

As the invitation was extended for people to come forward to receive Jesus into their lives, Cally hesitated. “For me it was a very strange scenario. I was standing next to a lady from church, Charlotte*, that I’d never met before. She asked me if I wanted to go up—but I said no. “I started telling her how it’s not for me. I’m not good enough. I haven’t finished reading my Bible yet.
“But I heard myself and it felt like lies rolling off my tongue. I felt like something was holding me back, keeping me in my seat.”

That’s when the Holy Spirit prompted Charlotte to step out in faith. “I just got this sense that she should go up,” shared Charlotte. “So I extended my hand and just said, ‘Come on.’” That invitation is just what Cally needed. “I looked at her and it was like complete relief,” Cally recalled. “I grabbed my daughter’s hand and the three of us walked up together. I couldn’t stop crying. There was this overwhelming relief that it was the right thing.”

After praying to receive Jesus as her Lord and Saviour Cally was given a Bible by one of the volunteer counsellors. She and her daughter then returned to the bus their group had come on. “Everyone was encouraging and hugging us. It was lovely,” Cally remembers.

Today, Cally and her daughter continue to grow in their faith, attending church every Sunday where they are being discipled. “When life gets tough now, I read my Bible and pray,” Cally said. “That fortifies me.” Cally and Charlotte are now good friends, and Cally remains deeply grateful for the experience that changed her life. “I want to say thank you to everyone who helped organise this.”
