How Do You Build a Strong Spiritual Foundation?

Cissie Graham Lynch’s 100th Fearless podcast episode will air June 27. It was recorded at the home of her grandparents, Billy and Ruth Graham.

“No one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
—1 Corinthians 3:11, ESV

Have you ever walked into a beautiful home and felt the floor sag beneath you? A weak foundation can put an entire building—and those in it—at risk.

After a hurricane decimated part of her community last year, Cissie Graham Lynch saw how seemingly solid houses were swept out to sea. Only the most secure foundations remained after the storm.

“It feels like we are in a cultural hurricane,” Lynch shared on the 100th episode of her Fearless podcast. “We live in a time when moral and ethical standards are crumbling.”

“How can our families stay grounded in Jesus Christ?” she asks. “How [do] you build a strong home that can withstand the storm?”

Since the podcast began, Lynch has focused on how to live out a fearless faith in today’s compromising culture. For the 100th episode, Lynch returns to Little Piney Cove, her grandparents’ home in Montreat, North Carolina, US,  where she watched her family navigate life’s storms.

Lynch shares the spiritual principles Billy and Ruth Graham used to build their home—and faith—on a strong foundation.

“When we build our house on the solid rock of God’s Word, we can have a consistent and constant assurance that we can remain standing after the storms,” Lynch said.
