During the European Congress on Evangelism, hosted by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association this past May in Berlin, Germany, Cissie Graham Lynch spoke with Finnish parliamentarian Päivi Maria Räsänen about her story of faith in the face of persecution.
When Räsänen’s 2019 social media post referencing Romans 1 sparked outrage and legal action, Päivi refused to back down. She stood firm on Biblical truth even when pressured to do the opposite.
“I will not apologize for the Word of God,” Päivi said. “Now is the time to speak.”
Päivi’s story is a reminder that in the darkest of trials, God is faithful. As her legal battles continue to unfold, she has seen first hand the fruit of what she’s fighting for. Young people are coming to Christ and individuals are being emboldened to share their own faith amid scrutiny.
