Hundreds of men, women, and children accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour at the last stop of the UK God Loves You Tour in London. Read a couple of inspiring stories from an unforgettable night:
Trusting God’s perfect timing
Some would call it perfect timing. Or in other words – God’s timing.
Many of us are guilty of trying to control the timeline of our lives. From buying a house, getting married, and having children. Some have it all laid out.
When Franklin Graham shared a message from Daniel 5 about a king who was running out of time, he challenged the crowd to consider how much time they have left on this earth. More importantly, what will happen to their souls when they stand before God.
“Is your soul secure in the hands of God?” Franklin Graham asked the thousands in attendance. “And if your life came to an end tonight, time stopped for you tonight, would God welcome you into His presence, would God receive you?”
Something about this pierced through Kendall’s* heart, and she began crying.
Kendall felt that she was running out of time. Now in her thirties, she’d planned to be married with children by now but she’s far from that.
She’d travelled most of the world and spent a lot of time in her own company – in fact, she came to the event alone after seeing an advertisement on social media.
“I saw the advert of Franklin Graham and thought I’d go because he’s from the United States and I’m American,” Kendall told the counsellor.
She admitted that she had some sort of faith but has never committed. Now she’s feeling lost and lonely as ever.
But Kendall was at the right place at the right time. When Franklin Graham invited the crowd to come forward, she made the decision to put her faith and trust in the Lord.
In front of thousands, she prayed for forgiveness and surrendered her life to Jesus Christ.
Kendall then tearfully prayed with a counsellor, who reminded her to trust in God and His perfect timing. The counsellor was also able to give her free discipleship materials so she can deepen her faith in Jesus.
“You’re now able to go home with the comfort and peace of Jesus Christ,” the counsellor said to Kendall. “And know that when you have Jesus, you are never alone.”
“I want to know that I am forgiven”
Lea* was full of doubts. Especially when it came to her faith and the direction of her life.
‘Does God care about me?’ ‘Where is He during my problems?’ and ‘Is He even real?’ are only a few questions that Lea was searching answers for.
Lea began attending church when she was invited by a friend. Since then, she’s had a hunger to know more about God, and what path He wants her life to go down.
But there was something in particular that she wanted to know for sure, whether her path would lead to heaven.
“I want to know that I am forgiven, and I want to know how to get to heaven,” the teenager said.
She listened intently as Franklin Graham shared the Good News. “Is your soul secure in the hands of God?” he said. “You get to choose. The only way to God is through Jesus Christ – there is only one road.”
That night, Lea chose the road that leads to eternity with Jesus Christ. She prayed in repentance and faith to receive Christ into her life.
“Now I know that even through hardships, I can come to God without any doubts,” Lea said.
Like the other hundreds who came forward that night, Lea received free discipleship materials to help grow her faith in Jesus Christ. Rooted and reassured, Lea said: “I loved tonight, and I can’t wait to read my new books.”
