Rain, flooding, and 150 mph winds destroyed homes and hospitals last week as Super Typhoon Sinlaku hit Saipan. Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) chaplains are deploying to the tiny island that’s about 1,600 miles east of the Philippines.

“In times like these, the physical devastation is immense, but so is the spiritual need,” said Josh Holland, vice president of BG-RRT Global.

“Chaplains with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team will come alongside those who are hurting and point them to the hope of Jesus Christ. We want people to know they are not alone or forgotten.”

Chaplains are working alongside disaster relief ministry Samaritan’s Purse, which is providing basic necessities and medical care as authorities seek to restore power and water to the island.

Will you pray that many will discover the comfort and love of God, who is a shelter through any storm? Ask Him to provide peace and wisdom through the restoration process and that He will strengthen first responders, volunteers, and chaplains as they work.
