Chaplains Minister in Louisiana After Devastating Flooding

Crisis-trained chaplains provide prayer and a listening ear following a disaster. In April, they responded to severe flooding in Michigan. Now they’re in the South after more damaging rains.

Historic rainfall in southern Louisiana caused waves of water to rush through homes and businesses last week, leaving many without a place to go. Even days later, the flood levels stayed high, forcing residents to find temporary shelter and halting recovery efforts.

Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) chaplains are in Avoyelles Parish to encourage locals and provide emotional and spiritual support as they grapple with the shock of losing so much.

“When families are forced to leave their homes and face loss and uncertainty, the emotional toll can be overwhelming,” said Josh Holland, vice president of BG-RRT Global. “The floodwaters may recede, but many residents will continue to face difficult days as they recover from this crisis. Our chaplains are there to walk alongside them, offering encouragement, prayer, and the steadfast hope that is found in Jesus Christ.”

Please join us in praying for families as they face the difficult road ahead. Ask God to use our chaplains to share the hope of Jesus Christ as they walk alongside those in need.
