A cluster of severe storms tore through the central United States recently, impacting communities in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Oklahoma.
At least 14 tornadoes hit Wisconsin last week, where fierce winds and heavy rainfall flooded homes and business and caused widespread damage. The same system caused major flooding in Newaygo, Michigan. Thousands of residents in both states were forced to evacuate and are now sorting through the wreckage of their lives.
A thousand miles to the south in Enid, Oklahoma, 10 people were injured Thursday when six tornadoes struck the northern part of the state. Authorities are still assessing the damage.
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) chaplains are deploying to all three areas, to provide emotional and spiritual support to residents.
“Many families and individuals have been forced from their homes and now face the difficult road ahead. But the Bible reminds us that even through storms, God remains a refuge and a shelter for those in need,” said Josh Holland, vice president of BG-RRT Global. “Our chaplains are there to remind them of this truth, offering prayer and a listening ear—and pointing them to the hope of Jesus Christ.”
Will you please pray for the many individuals and families who are picking up the pieces after these devastating storms? Please lift up first responders and our chaplains, who will share encouragement and the hope of Jesus Christ in the midst of crisis.
