Chaplains from the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) have deployed to Bristol after fatal stabbings took the lives of two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16.
The devastating event took place around 23:20 on Saturday evening (27 January). A vigil was held the following evening where the boys were stabbed, with members of the local community attending to light candles and lay flowers.
A crisis-trained chaplain has been present since yesterday morning (29 January) and has been able to pray with numerous members of the community who are heartbroken and angered by the tragic loss of life.
Nigel Fawcett-Jones, Rapid Response Team Chaplain Manager said: ‘The loss of life is always tragic. As a team we recognise the significance of the death of two teenagers has upon the community. Our chaplains are there to support the local church in being available to listen and to bring that much needed ministry of presence and indeed hope to a community that is grieving.”
A team of chaplains will be present amongst the community this week to provide emotional and spiritual care to those impacted by this incident.
Whether it’s offering a listening ear or a moment of prayer – will you please pray for the chaplains as they share the hope and light of Christ during this time of heartache and darkness?
