Chaplains Deploy After Hurricane Isaias Leaves a Trail of Destruction

In Pace, Florida, Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) chaplains minister to homeowners who were impacted by the hurricane.

Hurricane Isaias wreaked havoc across the Florida Panhandle and southern Alabama this weekend. With winds reaching up to 120 mph, the storm ripped off roofs, toppled trees and power lines, and left half a million residents without power.

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) is deploying to Brewton, Alabama, and Pace, Florida, to offer emotional and spiritual care to those who were impacted by the storm.

In response to the destruction, Will Graham offered words of hope to the hurting.

“Things like this can really bring up a lot of different emotions—and fear. And I just want to encourage people: Cry out to God, just ask, ‘Okay, Lord, take my fear away. I put my trust in You.’”

Josh Holland, vice president of BG-RRT, also expressed his prayers for the recovery process.

“As communities impacted by Hurricane Isaias begin the recovery process, our prayer is that they will experience God’s peace and comfort in the midst of devastation and uncertainty. Our crisis-trained chaplains will come alongside those who are hurting, offering a listening ear, prayer, and sharing the hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ.”

Please pray that God will comfort the hurting as they wade through so much loss and grief. Ask the Lord to use our chaplains to encourage these communities and point them to Jesus Christ, an ever-present refuge in any storm.
