Historic wildfires are still raging across southern Georgia, consuming over 40,000 acres of land and forcing thousands to evacuate from their homes.
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) chaplains are deploying to Brantley County to provide emotional and spiritual support to residents who are looking for a way forward in the aftermath.
“When someone stands in front of what used to be their home and sees ashes, it’s hard to put that kind of loss into words,” said Josh Holland, vice president of BG-RRT Global. “As people face the reality of their loss and begin the long road to recovery, our chaplains will be present to offer a listening ear, prayer, and to point people to the hope of Jesus Christ—a shelter that cannot be taken away or destroyed.”
Please pray for families, first responders, and all those affected by these record fires. Ask God to comfort them as they grieve the loss of their homes and begin to pick up the pieces.
