As Cissie Graham Lynch begins the nomination process for U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom, there may not be many new episodes of Fearless on the horizon. But Cissie and the team didn’t want to let this week go by without sharing a special conversation she recently had with Greg and Cathe Laurie in Southern California.
On today’s episode, Cissie asked Greg and Cathe to talk about their earliest days in ministry, their memories of her grandparents—Billy and Ruth Graham—how they parented their sons through different prodigal seasons, and what it looked like to stand steady in faith when their son, Christopher, died in a tragic car accident.
“The Word of God is what makes us stand steady,” Cathe says. “I had read enough of the Bible to know that suffering, and tribulation, and calamity happen to God’s people. And when I found myself that day with the news that Christopher had died, what flooded my mind was all those people in Scripture who had suffered—and that they made it through.”
Towards the end of their conversation, Greg and Cathe ask Cissie about what’s ahead in this next season for her and encouraged her to stand steady and walk fearlessly through all that’s to come. We pray this conversation will encourage you to do the same in the unique call God has placed on your life.
“I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
