A Day of Faith and Fun at the Billy Graham Library

The sounds of laughter, music, and cheering rang out from the Billy Graham Library on Saturday as kids of all ages enjoyed a day packed with faith and fun.

After a morning of outdoor activities, the celebration moved indoors for a special presentation from Kidz Blitz Ministry, an organisation that shares the Gospel nationwide through high-energy, family-friendly events.

The show included interactive games and lively competition. Children and parents formed teams to complete challenges, but beyond the excitement and amusement, the day carried a much deeper meaning. Each game illustrated key Biblical truths, encouraging both children and adults to trust God, read the Bible, and grow in faith. Parents were reminded that it’s okay to have fun with their kids—and encouraged to teach them to know and follow Jesus.

Donnie Slade, president of Kidz Blitz, shared a message of hope with those in attendance. He described how each of us was made to be in a relationship with God, but sin broke that connection.

“Sometimes we look at our sin like it’s so small, it doesn’t matter,” he said. “The Bible teaches us that no matter how small we think sin is, [it] separates us from God. Romans 6:23 says, ‘For the wages of sin is death.’”

Slade went on to explain that there’s nothing we can do to fix our broken relationship with the Lord. No amount of good works is enough. But God loves us so much, He didn’t leave us in our sin.

Slade continued, “God said, ‘I need to make it right. I’m going to send my son, Jesus, my only son, to die on the cross, to pay the price they can’t pay.’”

Looking into the crowd, Slade shared that after three days, Jesus rose from the grave. Anyone can find peace with God through faith in Him.

When the invitation to receive Christ’s free gift was extended, many hearts were moved, and several children and adults responded to the message.

Planting and Watering Seeds for a Spiritual Harvest

Sherry and her family came to Kidzfest looking forward to the fun activities, not realising there was a spiritual component to the event. Little did she know, this day would change two of her children’s lives for eternity. After learning about God’s love and their need for a Saviour, they both prayed to receive Jesus. Through tears of joy, Sherry later described her excitement over what her kids had learned.

“The games were so fun, but they were connected to Biblical truth,” she said.

Stephen Thaker, his wife, and two daughters also enjoyed the games. But like others, they appreciated how everything pointed to something deeper: the Gospel.

“I thought it was awesome where he just continually incorporated God’s Word in every activity and in everything that was said and done,” Thaker said.

Today was a joyful day for Alva Yandle, one of the event volunteers who has been serving at the Library since it opened in 2007. She prayed with three children who came forward to make a decision for Christ. She was encouraged by the response of so many at the event and is confident that God will continue working in the hearts of everyone who attended.

“At the Billy Graham Library, we’re all about planting seeds, watering, and someday the harvest will come. God’s Word never comes back void!”

Please lift up in prayer the children and adults who gave their lives to Christ at this event. Ask the Lord to grow their faith and connect them to a local church. Pray that these families will be strengthened and many more lives will be changed through the power of the Gospel.
