“I decided I didn't need God any more after I went away to college over 40 years ago, and I haven't changed. Preachers like you say you can't be happy without God, but you're wrong. I've had a happy life, and I still don't feel any need of God.”
“Why doesn't God do something about the evil in the world? Sometimes I wonder if God even cares about the bad things that happen to people today. I don't understand why He doesn't just destroy everything that's evil.”
“I admit I get upset and fly off the handle fairly easily, but that's just the way I am and I can't change it, no matter how hard I try. But my wife says I could change if I'd let God handle it. What difference would that make?”
“I know it’s wrong, but for over two years I’ve been involved in an affair with a woman I met while traveling. Now I’d like to get out of it, but I don’t see any way to break it off without my wife finding out. I wish I’d never done this. Any suggestions?”
“We're worried about our daughter-in-law because she's gotten very involved in a religious group that sounds like it might be a cult. Their leader insists on complete obedience, and says he alone knows the true path to God. Should we be concerned?”

“I heard a preacher say once that you can be joyful, even if you aren't happy. I don't see how that's possible, because if I'm not happy, then I'm certainly not joyful. Maybe you can explain what he might have meant.”
